These vintage bat designs feature vintage bat profiles that are a unique conversation piece. The 34” bats are made of northern ash and given a golden oak finish that completes the vintage feel of the bat! Our replica bats are hand turned and will vary slightly. Awesome piece for decor, perfect for vintage sports and baseball themes as well as primitive, cottage, cabin, lodge, farmhouse style decor! Also great for a sports memorabilia collection and/or vintage kids room décor. Item can be customized, and it includes 3 lines of engraved customization that appears to the left of barrel engraving.
Civil War Replica Early Base Ball Bat Circa 1850 – 1890’s: Also known as Civil War Era bat, the simple origins of baseball can be seen in this profile which features a very shallow taper from a straight barrel to a thick handle with a very subtle flair instead of a true knob.
Acorn Replica Early Baseball Bat Circa 1870’s: Called an “acorn” bat because of the decorative profile of the knob, this replica maintains the shallow taper of a straight barrel bat and thick handle of earlier bat profiles.
Browning Replica Early Baseball Bat Circa 1880’s: With a near-conical taper from barrel to knob, this profile has no true transition from barrel to handle. The taper provides a progressively slimmer handle as it approaches a true knob, rather than a handle flair.
Ball-Balanced Replica Early Base Ball Bat Circa 1900: The ball-balanced bat was meant to provide a counterweight to the heavy, stiff barrel delivering better control of the bat, as well as provide a more reliable grip to the better than a knobless profile.
Lajoie Replica Early Baseball Bat Circa 1904: Popularized by Hall of Famer Napoleon Lajoie, the split-grip bat was used in both practice and play, and was an experiment in increasing the batter’s accuracy. The batter was meant to curl a finger under the extra knob. It was thought this would improve fine control, allowing the batter to “hit’em where they ain’t”.
Mushroom Replica Early Baseball Bat Circa 1904: The mushroom handle was designed to counter balance the barrel.
Knobless Replica Early Baseball Bat Circa 1915: This knobless model reflects a refinement from earlier Civil War-era bats. A thinner handle and more pronounced, almost knob-like flair reduced weight and provided better control despite the still-gradual taper from the straight barrel.

I can't say enough good things about the Wood Bat Factory tour! My husband, ten year old grandson and I took the tour on November 1, 2025. The tour was more than we imagined it would be. The tour guide (sorry I can't remember his name) was so personable, informative and a pleasure to be with. We were shown every step of bat making from the huge pieces of tree trunks (still with the bark) entering the factory to the finished bat product. The tour is conducted through the actual factory so you able to see (and hear) the goings on of the processes. All three of us thoroughly enjoyed the tour and we highly recommend it for anyone interested in baseball, wood working or amazing machinery (some of it robotic!). The factory is huge, amazingly clean and completely organized. If you are ever in the Cooperstown, New York area, take the tour! You won't regret it.
Thanks a ton for your review Lou! Glad you all had a good time in the mill. We hope to see you again in the future.
My son got one of these and it has been a cool piece to have around the house. He's been knocking around all sorts of balls with it. Great quality and good weight.
If I could give 10 stars instead of 5, I would. Chris was wonderful, and we spent over an hour in the factory chatting. The bat is beautiful, and was such a cool gift for my husband.
They went the extra mile for me and personally searched for my bat and was able to overnight it to me with my game coming up. They understand the importance of having the equipment you need to play your game at a high level. I will definitely order again. Thanks again
